It's tea time in LOTS-land! Celestial Seasonings traces its roots back to 1969 when one of its founders started blending handpicked wild herbs from the Rocky Mountains to make its now famous herbal teas. Over the next few years, the company experienced explosive growth and now creates 1.6 billion cups of tea a year using ingredients obtained from over 35 countries! The company is driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for making tea that's good for people and the planet.
The Denver & Rio Grande Western Railroad (D&RGW) was a Class 1 railroad founded in 1870 that operated the largest narrow gauge network in the US. Acting as a bridge line across the lofty Rocky Mountains, the railroad truly lived up to its mottos of "Main Line through the Rockies" and "Scenic Line of the World". Numerous branch lines to mining areas such as Leadville, Aspen and Silverton supplied the mines and moved much of the silver ore that fueled the economic development of the western US through the 1880's. Modern rail enthusiasts still enjoy the fruits of this expansion with tourist lines offering rides through the Cumbres Pass, Durango & Silverton, and Aspen areas.
